Spring & Summer Blooming in Faith, Hope & Love
By Retired Pastor Ginger DuMars, Mountain Lutheran Church of Groveland
It has been a long, difficult winter in our foothills!  So we are rejoicing & celebrating the beauty of new life all around us this Spring & as we enter Summer!  The wildflowers seem to abound this year & fill our foothills with gorgeous colors and varieties.  The hills & road sides are still vibrant with  Poppies, Lupines, Indian Paint Brushes, Chinese Houses & Lanterns, Henderson Shooting Stars, a variety of Daisy type flowers & even lavender blossoms on Creosote bushes – to name just a few as I write this in mid-May.  It feels like God has given us a new creation & new life to enjoy!
And, God has made us, as Christians, a new creation with profound gifts of faith & forgiveness, hope & healing, purpose & provisions, reconciliation & the reality of living in & with Jesus Christ, our Lord & Savior!  I hope our Christian lives can be like the vibrant, beautiful wildflowers of Spring – bursting with joy & zeal to share the Good News & joy of Christian living & faith, hope & love!  Like 2 Corinthians 5:16-17 tells us, “So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away!  See, everything has become new (in this new season)!  All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation!”  This is Good News to share with others!  And, many people around us need these expressions of God’s Love for them & the gifts from God that I mentioned above.  Of course, we all need encouragement to be bold & yet gentle in sharing our faith, hope & love!  Worshiping with other Christians, participating in Bible Studies & Christian Fellowship, helping with Community Projects, hearing God’s Good News & words of encouragement are essential parts of Christian living & our ministry of reconciliation!  I think you will find these benefits in all of our Foothill Christian Churches & that they will help your Christian faith, hope & love to blossom like we’ve experienced in the wildflowers this Spring!  Let you faith, hope & love burst with Joy & Exuberance like the beauty of this Spring has done for you!  Choose a church that fits your need to be ministered to & to do your ministry – with growing faith, hope & love.
And, Mountain Lutheran Church, 13000 Down to Earth Ct. in Groveland, always welcomes YOU!  We offer Liturgical, Tradition Worship at 4:00 on Sunday afternoons, with a variety of Guest Speakers & Preachers.  Bible Studies are the 1st & 3rd Thursday at 1:00.  For more information, visit our Web Site at www.mountainlutheranchurch.com   or call 209-962-4064 & leave a message.  We’ll return your call ASAP – with faith, hope & love!

Enjoy God’s Gift of Spring & New Life & keep praying for those who are suffering from a damaging winter or difficult life or health issues!
With Faith & Hope, Love & Appreciation,   Rev. Ginger DuMars

Singing our praises & joys, laments & concerns to God is a special form of prayer emphasized throughout the Bible.  The book of Psalms includes vital encouragement to sing & pray together as a community & individually.  Psalm 100 is a favorite for many people & says:  “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness;  come into God’s presence with singing.  Know that the Lord is God.  It is God who made us and we are God’s people, and the sheep of  His pasture.   Enter God’s gates with thanksgiving and God’s courts with praise.  Give thanks to Him and bless God’s Holy Name.”  (Psalm 100:1-4, NRSV)

We invite everyone lovingly and with open arms to join us as we celebrate our lives in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After service fellowship includes friendly conversation with church members and visitors.

Mountain Lutheran church is the only liturgical non-Catholic Church in the Groveland/Big Oak Flat area. We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and we welcome people of ALL faith traditions, orientations, and backgrounds.

Our mission is to spread the Word of God through faith, family, and fellowship. Come worship with us at 4:00PM Sunday afternoons. We celebrate communion most Sundays.
